Philosophy

Working within the knowledge that despite science and modern thought offering some certainties, our culture is driven by an unwarranted confidence in the facts as we know them; and as a consequence an unsubtle drive to manipulate the world too coarsely.

The expectation that this needs to move forward to a sensitivity that recognises the flaws in our perceptions.

• The expectation of standing tall, doing what others might find hard.
• The expectation of good planning, wise action, little waste.
• Of responsibility, of our obligations to all life and our environment
• Of adequate reward for work done well.
• Of aroha for yourself, those around you and not only humans...

Steve Pivac is currently involved with working for the farming community in South Taranaki. Some of the tasks undertaken on a largely voluntary basis.

The rest of the time working with and for people whose company he enjoys. Occasionally also driving a team of horses involved in low impact logging and traditional work.
